We can only be there and give as much help as we can, yes it hurts. But at the same token, I am glad that you are there for them. When they truly need it. We are all just children, looking after the one’s that need it. Russ, you are one of God’s angels looking out for the one;’s that need us. Peace be with you and also, to them that you help. I live within 6 blocks of a dear family member whose age has put him into similar situation as what your mother is going through. Nearly every part of his body is betraying him. His wife is also quite elderly and can no longer care for him or even pick him up when he falls, as he often does. I’m there almost daily to help them get through various urgent matters and emergencies. I’m happy and grateful to be able to help, yet quite saddened to see the rapidly increasing deterioration. I’ve seen a huge decline in just the last week. I love and respect him, and it tears me up to see what this good man is going through. Thank you for this post. Your writing is doing work for me too.
