Super Sweet Blogging Award…Hmm… , has nominated me for an award… ( palm smack to the forehead!  ).  I am new to his Blog, and have followed him for about a month (silently, I might add).  He has a pretty interesting blog, so go check him out!

I tend to do that a bunch, I follow about 100 different blogs, but I am the silent type.  I will read it and if it touches me, then I will like it, but I am a little hesitant about leaving words, call me shy.  (hehehe)

I guess, I am on the same page about accepting awards, I am a little bashful, but puffed up with pride at the same token.    Who knew, that someone other than myself actually reads what I write about.    Mike’s theory is that with the awards, it’s also about promoting your Blog, as well as some of the one’s you follow. That’s ok though… Here are the “rules” so to speak…

1. Give credit to the person who chooses to nominate you, check

2. Answer the “Super Sweet” questions.  check…

3. Nominate a “Baker’s Dozen”, check….

The super sweet questions are:

1. Cookies or cake? Uhm….I hate to burst the bubble on the first question, but, I really don’t like sweets.   but, I do like thin mint cookies of the Girl Scout variety.

2. Chocolate or vanilla. Chocolate every time.( I do have a weakness for M&M’s though)

3. What is your favourite sweet treat, cheesecake or frozen yoghurt?  I would have to admit, it would be a piece of homemade cherry cheesecake, but only about once a year…

4.When do you crave sweet things the most?  I don’t crave sweet things, now ask me about a bag of potato chips, or “crisps”…

5. If you had a sweet nickname what would it be?   I’ll leave this one, after all my blog is rated G.  hehehe…

Nominate my Baker’s donzen….  Gosh….here goes…

Thank you once again to Mike, and Congrats to all who are nominated!!!

WOW! Blog of the Year Award….

I have been nominated for the Blog of the year award for 2012…..WOWZERS!!!!

I was nominated by I have followed Terry for quite a while now, as we are both in similar situations.    Head on over to her blog and check her out.

The ‘rules’ for this award are simple:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award –   and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

Here are my nominations….

1.,    I have followed Russ for quite sometime, and I always enjoy his posts.  I’ve even re-blogged some of them….

The Silver Quill Blogger Award

Apparently, I have been nominated for “The  Silver Quill Blogger Award”, by Terry.

Terry’s has several WordPress sites, but I normally follow her at:

Terry is a wonderful Blogger, who writes with inspiration, and is not afraid, to let all of us into her world of dealing with her Brother, who has Parkinson’s Disease.    Terry and I have actually become really good friend’s, and are going to catch up with each other in about two weeks time.

There are rules to follow with this as most awards, and the rules for this are.

To pay tribute to the one who nominated you, check!

To answer the following questions.  check!

To nominate five others and let them know.  ok, check!

1- Do you prefer rhyming or non-rhyming poetry?  I like all poetry, however, I write more non-rhyming.

2- What’s your favorite Shakespeare Play? Well, I have a couple of favorites, Macbeth (because our Drama club put on this play),  but I would have to say my all time favorite is  A Midsummer Nights Dream.  Having grown up in England, I have actually visited Shakespeare’s birthplace and other sites.

3- Who is your favourite author? I don’t actually have a favorite.

4- Name three people who you greatly admire.  For me this is a hard one, I admire my Momma, for her courage.  I admire my Dad for his compassion.  There are a great many people who I admire, and I am having a hard time narrowing it down. So, I’m going to opt out with just 2 ok?

5- What’s your favourite album ever? Savage Garden – Affirmation.  I love every single song on that one.

6- Which primary color do you most dislike?  I actually like all of the primary colors.

7- Name a song or a poem that makes you feel emotional.  My Wish – By Rascal Flatts.

Okie dokie, nomination time:

Thanks again Terry!!!!!

It appears I was nominated for another award.  Thanks to Terry1954.

While I have already received this one, I am thankful for receiving it again.

I would like to share with you the Electrician’s response when I told him I had been nominated for another award.  His response “You’ve been nominated for the Dork of the Year Award?”  (This is a private thing between the Electrician, while I am his dork, he is MY geek hehehe)

Uhm….no, but thanks for the nomination!.  Thank you Terry, you have no idea what you mean to me, and you are truly special.  I hope all of my readers, enjoy or at least stop and think about what I post.

One Lovely Blog Award…..

I have been nominated for the One lovely blog award, by  First off I would love to say Thank You.  When I am nominated for awards, I kind of go mushy inside, and realize that people are really reading my blog, and sometimes my inner most thoughts.

letstalkaboutfamily,  My friend Terry introduced me to her blog.  It is a woman who is dealing with her Father who has Alzheimer’s.  I have brief knowledge of this disease as well, as some of my family have dealt with it.

Since, I have received this award before, I already have the logo in my sidebar,   For those of you that have read my acceptance “speech’s”, you know I don’t necessarily like to nominate other people, because so people do not like to get awards.

But I will tell you, that if I find a blog that I really enjoy, I usually try to share it with people that read my blog.

Thanks again!

WooHoo!! Sisterhood of the WorldBloggers Award….

I have been nominated for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award by Terry1954.

The rules are, Give credit to the one who nominated you, that would be  I have become friends with Terry, as we are dealing with similar situations.  I enjoy her blog, and hope you do to, go check her out.

Tell seven secrets about yourself,  uhm, this might be harder than it looks, because I don’t like to tell all….but ok here goes…

1.  I have a fascination with wolves, one room in my house is dedicated to them, with paintings, pictures, and statues.

2.  I really enjoy shooting guns.

3.  While my pictures might show that blond hair, I am truly a brunette, but blond seems to cover grey a lot better.

4.  I really hate to exercise, and truly have to force myself to do it.

5.  I like salt versus sweet.  Give me a bag of chips versus a candy bar, and I’m in heaven.

6.  I like to smile at random people to see if it makes their day.

7.  I find being short (uhm 4’11”) sometimes a serious problem when trying to reach the top shelf at Grocery Stores, Oh wait who am I kidding, I’m not allowed in them.  hehehe…  No, really most times I enjoy being short, but really hate when what I want is just above my reach.

Nominate seven others,

I have accepted awards before, and I always hate to nominate people, simply for the fact that I don’t know if they want to be nominated, but I will tell you a couple of peeps that I really enjoy,  I seriously enjoy her blog, I’ve followed her since the day I started my blog, and she has a really good blog going.  It always interests me and gives me a lot of different stuff to ponder, plus some really good giggles.  I am new to Genie’s blog, but I have enjoyed it, and some of the things she says, really hit home with me. Julie and I must have sisters in another life, because I have read her blog, for oh so many months now.  We too are going through similar situations.  I have recently started following Russ, and I know this is the Sisterhood blog award, but this man has so much insight and is really worth reading.  This is one of the first blogs I ever read when I first started blogging.  I have followed her forever.  From the time when she was unknown to being “Fresh Pressed”.  I enjoy her blog and her thoughts.

There are so many other’s that I follow, but these peeps, besides, are some of my favorites.

Thanks y’all for this honor.  I’m sorry I didn’t dress up (ok, I may be in my p.j.’s), But thanks again!!!!

Call me butter, I’m on a roll…..

I received another award, and I am blushing, (seriously, I think I did a back flip, and still haven’t recovered).

I would like to thank Genie for this award.    Y’all need to go over and check her out, because I really enjoy her blog.  You can find her at

There are a couple of rules with this award here they are.

  1. Include the award logo somewhere in your blog.  (check)
  2. Answer the following 10 questions. (check)
  3. Nominate 10-12 blogs you enjoy. (working on it)
  4. Provide links to these blogs and let the bloggers know that they’ve been nominated. (working on it)
  5. Thank and link your nominator ( check!)

The 10 questions are as follows:

What is your favorite color?  hmm, mostly purple, but it can change given my mood.

What is your favorite animal?  This one is easy, wolves, cats and tigers.  I don’t have just one.

What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink?  Sweet Tea, with a twist of lemon, can drink it by the gallon….
Do you prefer Facebook or Twitter?  Facebook, simply for the fact, I am a Twitter idiot, I still haven’t figured it out.
What’s your passion?    Hmm..First and foremost my family, writing, photography, and reading (I have varied interests).
What’s your favorite pattern?   I may have misinterpreted this question, but my favorite pattern is routine.
What’s your favorite number?  Has been and always will be my lucky number 7.
Favorite day of the week?  When I was working, Friday, but now?  Everyday, that I wake up is a Blessing.

Favorite flower?   Hmm, this one made me think,  first instinct would be to say a rose, but as I’ve gotten older, I would have to say anything that is grown outside, I don’t really like cut flowers because they die, but if it is a flower plant outside, I really enjoy those.  Now if you asked what kind of outdoor plant I like, that’s a given Hostas!
What is on my mind today:  Today, I really don’t have anything on my mind, it is a down day for me.  They are few and far between, because of my normal daily obligations.   But I do “feel” Blessed by all that I have and all of the wonderful people in my life.  (Uhm, check with me tomorrow, when random thoughts will come and go).

My next task with this award is to nominate other bloggers….

Being as it is a down day, Can I get back to you on this one?  I would like to check first with the people I nominate, because not all of the blogs I would nominate might not want an award, so out of respect for them, I’m going to check first.  Look for “Call me butter, I’m on a roll part two”  OK?

WOW – I was nominated for an award!

I’ve been writing my blog for 9 months now.  I originally started writing my blog because, I had a lot of things to say, and emotions that I felt, and this was my way of releasing them.   In the first few months of my blog, I slowly got more readers.  When I hit over 400 (ok, maybe by 2), I was overwhelmed that so many people would be interested in anything I had to say.  (Actually, the Electrician would tell you I did a Happy dance all over the sports room, but since I’m writing this he won’t tell you.)

I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by Southern-wild, and y’all really need to go check her out, at  I’ve been sneaking in and reading her page for quite a while.    She does some amazing photography.

With the award comes a list of rules:

1. Link Back to the person who nominated you
2. Write seven things about yourself
3. Nominate 15 or so fellow bloggers, and leave a note on their blog to let them know.

Ok, number one, check.

number 2.  Uhm.. 7 things about myself…  hmm….well ok here goes.

1.  I am exactly 4 feet and 11 inches tall, I had to get a waiver signed by the President of the United States to join the Air Force, because of the height requirement.  (Although what with getting older I may have shrunk to 4 feet and 10 1/2 inches)

2.   I worked in the Insurance Industry for over 20 years, but enjoyed being a waitress/bartender more than any other job I had.

3.  I conquered my fear of heights when I ziplined in Jamaica with my Sister-in-law.

4.  My world is my family.

5.  I am addicted to Food Network, and the Cooking Channel, and seriously think I should have just been a chef. (Although I do have some successes, don’t ask the Electrician about my messes.)

6.  I have realized in the wisdom of my 50 years, life is to short,(so am I) and things can change on a dime, so I try to live my life to the fullest each and everyday.

7. I have started working out lately, (The Electrician has done it for YEARS, and been bugging me to do it).  While I do work out everyday, if anyone were to see me (Because I will not work out if anyone can see me), I appreciate the fact that I am not the star in a workout video, and it’s pretty amusing to watch.  (The Electrician saw me working out, and actually laughed.  I guess I’m not the most coordinated person on the planet).

Ok, number 2, check.

Now onto some nominations.  And I will make a confession here, while I follow quite a few different blogs, there are only a few that I read on a daily basis.  I usually try to catch up with most of the others over the weekend.

So, with that being said, here are a few of my favorites., Terry touches my heart, while we are in similar positions with Parkinson’s.  Terry cares for her brother Al, while I care for Momma, and we both go through a lot of the same emotions.  Terry is also a brilliant story-teller. This blog rocks my world.  First off, I was raised in the part of London where they live.  The recipes and photo’s make me happy.  I have followed this blog since I started blogging.  Rachel was an Au Pair in Australia, who has since returned home back to the United States, and I have been a tourist of Australia through her.  I love this one simply because folks, I am a cat person and where they get the photo’s of cat’s floors me but it usually gives me a giggle.  I have followed this blog for quite a while.  She actually has two blogs, and I follow both of them.  Julie’s husband has Parkinson’s and we have shared a lot of things.

So, while I follow a lot more blogs than the above mentioned,  some of my other favorites have already received this esteemed award.

So….from Camsgranny, thanks y’all.  I feel special!  🙂
